How Servo-pendulum Windvane Works

I had some time on my hands when we were sailing between Galapagos and the Marquesas so I made this.

If you know how one works - don't bother looking - if you don't and want to know - here's a simple explanation

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Nicely done and explained Carsten. Should be of interest to sailors who want to use one that dont have the big bucks for the major brands. Your post and one of the few books on windvane steering setup will set windvane newbies in the right direction.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Everyone knows they work by magic.

yep just like your signature should read "Professional Marine Electrician Magician" (I admit it - I don't understand marine electronics very well)

but you're right - it does seem like magic sometimes...........................

And something else that I have been wondering about has once again be demystified by the forum. Thank you for posting a very clear and concise video for the benefit of the rest of us.
