Learn to Sail :-)

Hello I posted this earlier but I think I posted it in the wrong forum, sorry, new to this site.

I am a 50 year old fire chief that has never sailed but I am interested in learning to sail. I want to buy myself a sail boat and enjoy sailing especially when I retire. I live near Savannah Georgia and would like someone to teach me and show me what I need to know. If you would be so kind please let me know and I will contact you or you can contact me. Thanks in advanced!

Re: Learn to Sail :-)

Might take a look for local sailing clubs as well. Some areas have very active marina based clubs that would welcome you as crew and you would pick up fabulous experience before you buy your boat.

Re: Learn to Sail :-)

The way I learned was just asking anyone that needed crew to take me out and teach me. Many boat owners, especially those that race are in need of crew. I think robwilk is correct in saying that racing is a catalyst to learning. I am replying to your thread of four months ago, so hope you have started to learn by now.
