New Boat

We are buying our first boat Moody 41AC or 45AC.Do we get the broker put grades on? One would think more you spent up front the better you can negotiate on the price. If not wish thing just make sense for the manufacturer to do?

Re: New Boat

I hope someone else here from the forum will answer your questions. I really can't help you because all I've ever bought have been used boats with all the upgrades installed and functioning properly and the boat having thoroughly been tried and tested plus much less expensive.
I wish you luck in your purchase.
kind regards,

Re: New Boat

What are grades? Generally, I would grade Moody's as a B+ in terms of design, quality of construction, fit & finish. The Broker might grade them as A+ and then charge you accordingly.

Re: New Boat

We purchased a new Hanse recently. For items such as doger, bimimi, heating, watermakers, AIS, microwave etc I would have these installed once the boat arrives vs buying them direct from factory as we found we could do it alot cheaper locally (we are in NZ). Items like teak decking are better ordered from factory. All the best.
