No reason to stow Bowditch in the bilge. Like all US Government publications, it is the property of "we the people" and can be freely downloaded as a PDF file. Probably fits on one half of a gram of flash storage, if that much.(G)

Re: Please recommend a book

I'm on my phone in the airport so cannot find the link for you but I asked a similar question some weeks ago about good free pdf documents that I could read off line on the iPad. Some one gave me a link to an awesome foul weather survival book and something about reading the weather (I haven't started that one yet) the foul weather survival one was awesome and I need to thank the kind person that recommended it. I would be reading it now but I forgot the pad... Bugger. Good luck in the reading and try not to scare yourself out of sailing all together.

Re: Please recommend a book

IIRC the Cornell's (Jimmy Cornell & wife) had put up two of his older books as free PDFs online. No idea what the titles or links were, but they should be searchable.

Re: Please recommend a book

Two books about incredible open ocean crossings.

South by Schakleton and Captain Blighs log that describes a transpac in a whale boat.

Also good reads about different management styles.
