Question on sight reduction

I am new at this sight reduction stuff and am a bit confused on the "concise" (with tables) instructions in the Nautical Almanac. Can anyone help?

In "Step 4", A and F are to be entered as arguments, my first assumption was cross-referenced in the tables. However, A and F cannot be cross-referenced, as they are both listed in columns.

What's up with that?

send me your email address and I will forward a set of forms which should resolve your problems - these are based on the air navigation tables, so if you are doing it the longhand nautical version, they wont work.
