Tender?

What does tender mean when talking about a sailboat? Is this how quickly a boat tends to heel when the wind picks up?

A “maven” is one who is expert, experienced, or knowledgeable about a particular subject.

I’m neither American, nor fashionable; but I do have a high opinion of myself.
