Velcro Instead of Winch Handle Pockets

I've been seeing this on a lot of sport boats in place of pockets. Comments and experiences, please.
  • A fraction faster.
  • No holes to drill.
  • Might lose more handles ... or fewer if the pockets aren't being used.

Also comment on locking vs. non-locking. Non-locking is faster.
  • Locking is more secure ... but if you remove the handles after use does that matter? I've never lost a non-locking handle, but I have not used them as often. The only handle I've lost was not the handle's fault!

No one? I've seen a lot of these. A pad near every winch could be handy. Could use both.

Doesn't seem as secure as a pocket. Someone's foot could slip, snagging the handle and flipping it overboard. Or someone could brush against it with their knee or tusch, dislodging it. It presents a much bigger target than the relatively short handle that sticks out of a pocket.

Never seen it around here.

Mind you, my winch handles sit in some lengths of poly pipe so what would I know?
