Look for a one armed yachtie rowing his tender in circles.

Re: Where To Put The Oars?

Wow. I've left my dink on hundreds of dinghy docks, beaches, wharves and landings, and it has never even occurred to me to worry about the oars.

Yeah. I hear that. I guess the one time it hurt for me was the time someone stole my oars along with the rest of the dink when I was in no more exotic place than my at-the-time home marina.

That's a GREAT idea.
I have a pink Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver. They're almost $100.00 now. I had a black one, stolen. Next I bought an orange one, stolen. About 15 years ago I got a pink one. I still have it!

Re: Where To Put The Oars?

When away from home waters I use the holes (drilled) in the oars to cable & padlock to the dink.

At the moment I have a rigid dink in the harbour, oars are simply roped in - but that mostly about stopping them floating away when the dink fills with rainwater. The dink is never locked. Been that way for several years.

It's nice living civilised
