Stovetop espresso all the way for me

And of course you need a blender for the afternoon beverage!

Re: 12vdc Coffee Maker

I had a Crusinart 12v maker, gave it to my brother to put on his trawler. It used to much power & was slow. I did have the same problem with the power shutting down, found that the boat lighter socket was the problem. It would not maintain good contact, worked great after changing the socket. Look at the French Press, Melita cone,&the good old percolator. If the coffee is to cloudy for you, just run it through the Melita cone w/ a #2 filter..Michael..

"The cheap plastic ones work just as well"

Yes, they do work as well - but... they don't last long. Managed to blow out the bottom - well, a crack around the bottom - of two acrylic presses before settling in with the Nissan press/thermos. Turns out the plastic ones are very sensitive to how many grounds are in them being pressed.

Now these things make a wicked cup of coffee, on the stove top with no electricity:

Bellmann Cappuccino - SS Stove-top Cappuccino Maker - from Espressotec Vancouver Canada - Espressotec
