Baking in a Force 10 Euro Compact stove

Hello fellow shipborne bakers!
We have recently purchased a new Force 10 EU compact stove which allows both baking and grilling. In comparison to other stoves, there’s no baking sheet included, just a grating to pig on one of two rails in the oven….
So here are the questions…
- What do you use as a baking sheet to bake or grill?
- Is there a source for a baking sheet that fits directly on the rack shelves in the oven? Ideally that is what seems to be the key accessory.
Looking forward to your suggestions.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Baking in a Force 10 Euro Compact stove

Hi Robert, I have the same stove/oven. We've had it for a few years now, and do a lot of baking. I don't recall having any issue finding baking sheets and pans that fit nicely. We just use some standard small-sized pans/sheets that seem generally available -- at least here in Canada.

If you want something like an old fashioned broiling pan, that lets drips go down into the bottom, the best way to arrive at that that I have found, is to find a cookie sheet that is a shallow rectangular "pan", and use a cookie cooling rack to support the item you want to let drip. Or you can use a shallow rectangular baking pan on the "wire" rack to put the item in. In the latter case, the item sits in whatever drips out of it. It's up to you whether or not that is undesirable.

If something is greasy, you can drain it afterwards, if necessary.

Supposedly the inside width of the oven is 17 inches. I can't find a depth measurement, but here's a 16.75 inch by 12. 5 inch cookie sheet:

Now that's a great idea. My wife uses them, including silicone muffin tins. Easy to clean. I just have a hard time getting my head around the fact that they don't burn or melt.

silicon baking sheets and whatnot.

I have it on good authority those are the best. No first hand experience since I do not cook or bake but I trust the source on this one.

And if that was beef being cooked, let it drain and cool so making the most marvellous dripping for toast in the morning, with a dash of salt too

Silicone, as long as it is silver crosslinked (good silicone baking forms state that) are heat stable up to ca. 500 degrees C and do not weep anything unhealthy into the food, so no problem there. Cheap silicone (not silver crosslinked) is another issue.
