Re: Corelle, melamine, or something else?

Our cruising style is likely different from most here... seldom "dine" with plated meals while underway... usually do sandwiches and other handhelds...

But placemats made out of non-slip cabinet lining stuff can work pretty well... in lieu of silicon beads and so forth...

We do the same, both with the placemats and the simple meals while underway. I'll sometimes use a plate, but only if it makes whatever I'm eating easier. Meals eaten underway are usually cold for us, just something put together quickly / easily. Or it's breakfast made just before / during departure (like a bagel and coffee). Real meals are saved for when we're anchored or docked.

Much like Chris, we're a powerboat and only doing coastal cruising, so anything more than a 10 - 12 hour day is very rare. No multi-day passages here.
