Garbage Pick Up

I was thinking about going into water delivery and trash removal service for boats at anchor in and around Saint Thomas. From a Boaters point of view. would this service be useful .Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Garbage Pick Up

I don't think you could do enough water deliveries to make it worthwhile for you, if so boaters more likely to just come in. And people probably come into shore daily and bring their trash with them.

Just my thoughts.

Re: Garbage Pick Up

When we were in the BVI for a month, almost all the major anchorages had a local boat that would pop by and try and sell various Supplies of food beer etc and pick up the bagged rubbish/ trash most days, apart from being very seasonal, I don't think many took advantage of the service as all the vessels went ashore most days, but they obviously did ok or they would not provide the service.

Answered on your other thread.

I would think you'd have to offer water, diesel, ice, beer, food etc. to make anything like that feasible. Even then I'd be doubtful you could get the numbers to work. Generally people on boats at anchor around here are frugal or they'd be on a dock. Generally frugal people won't pay extra for getting rid of trash, when they can do it for free.
