GoSun Stove - Solar

Wasn't sure where to post this, but just found this grill and it looks like a great solution for a boat.

Re: GoSun Stove - Solar

I'm not sure how useful it would be on a boat, but it would be good to se 'real-world' testing in the nautical environment.

(SIGH)
I'd rather be sailing.

Not that one... but we used to line cardboard boxes with aluminum foil in Boy Scouts, resulting in a solar oven and baked cakes in camp.

Needs a good sunny day, so results will vary with weather.

They are interesting to play with. Would never rely on one for my actual daily cooking needs. They do work quite well depending on the design and when/where you try to use them.
I've used something similar a lot more, a solar food dryer. Makes great sun dried tomatoes.
Found plans a few years ago on-line.

Strange, it works for me. Maybe a moderator can check that?

Boats drift around, how would one keep it aimed at the sun?

Re: GoSun Stove - Solar

We own Go Sun and love it! When our propane was low and we weren't sure when we would be able to refill, I cooked everything in it. Yes you need sun. Yes the food must be cut into long strips and is only good for 2 people. But we love it as a back up. Free energy!

If there's a rule against double posting please delete this. I have it on another solar oven thread. But here's one for sale on eBay for about half price.( not by me)
