Re: Kitchen appliance recommendations

It depends on a few things, counter space, power available and your food interest. Some need a expresso machine, some a blender for frozen drink and smoothies. Others can't live without a bread maker or microwave. My favorite was an European lady, who made the best crusty bread, had a large KitchenAid mixer sitting on her counter. What's your interest, should be the driver. We're on a smaller sailboat, we just have a small magic blender and pressure cooker, would recommend both.

I tend to buy small no name brand appliances, they last long enough

Re: Kitchen appliance recommendations

We plan on having about 2800kw of solar on our catamaran, and also plan on ditching propane. Our galley will have an induction stovetop, and we're contemplating a microwave/ convection/ etc combo unit in lieu of an oven. Additional electronic kitchen gadgets will be a coffee maker, an instant pot, and immersion blender. Outside we will have an electric grill as well.

Anyone else have a DASH waffle maker? I love this thing - it's so small and functional. Perfect for waffles for 2.

Re: Kitchen appliance recommendations

Anyone found a countertop oven that is well insulated? Having all that heat escape out of the battery bank and into the boat is not my idea of a good time.

The only one we have found is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1

The big drawback is the single rack inside.

When making cookies, it would seem to take forever to make a few dozen and more wasteful as well.

We like our current one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Except the outside gets very warm and the heating element inside has to be on a lot to compensate for the lack of insulation.

FWIW: Instant Brands, the company that makes kitchen staples like: CorningWare, Pyrex, and the Instant Pot ,has entered a voluntary court-supervised Chapter 11 process [bankruptcy proceedings], in the U.S. and Canada.
