Perhaps a better choice might be a Weber Q-200. 12000 btu, comes with a cast iron grill. Made of Aluminum. Has disposable drip pan $189. @ Home Depot.
I am thrilled with mine and I am fabricating a rack to hang it over the side of the cockpit off the rail. If it last 5 years, it will have paid for itself, and rather than rebuilding for that price just buy another. I am running it off my big lp gas cylinder (or tank). Would love to see what you come up with as those are great grills - keep us posted.

I'm very happy with my charcoal Magma. I have one question though which others might be able to help with: I use the Magma round chimney/tube thingy to start it with a couple of fire-lighters at the bottom and the rest filled with charcoal. Problem is it that while it holds just enough charcoal to do a couple of steaks, I'd like to be able to do more when I have company. Get a second tube?
