Re: Prepper Boat Thread

I wish this could be posted on more than one thread at a time. It makes me sick that companies do stuff like this.
https://youtu.be/vBPudQR12bs
This is not the only place I've found this information about Berkey selling filters that they knew were defective.

Re: Prepper Boat Thread

I've had the same idea as the video shows for a while. just looking for a filter from another company.

https://youtu.be/CjGxUAOrkrM

I want a filter that's NSF 42 and 53 certified for chlorine , lead, pesticides, etc. removal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The war is coming. Not from the US, but those who want the West terminated. It's one reason I'm buying a boat, not just for the awesome enjoyment of sailing. You can fear-monger all you want from any angle, but the reality is, half of the world thinks it's okay to behead you if you don't believe in their God. Take that as you will, but I'd rather be offshore. It doesn't hurt to be prepared.

23% of the world's population is muslim.

I've worked with and lived amongst muslims in different countries. Only a small percentage of that 23% would agree with your proposition.

Half the world wants to behead you? Wow, I actually had a friend beheaded, and dont feel the way you do, your statement is just ridiculous. I'll guarantee I've spent more time in Muslim communities, with families etc than you......your out of line with comments like that, pure ignorance.

He is but already admitted that. According to studies it is only 30% of muslims that support the beheading so that is 8% of the world population. Still frightening isn't it? It is about equal to the number of muslims who oppose it, leaving 40% who may not agree but refuse to speak out against it.

The higher percentages are probably about the 70% of muslims who support sharia law, which does not include beheading of those who refuse to convert per se.

Imho, it's more of a radical politic thing in a disguise, but I digress.

Re: Prepper Boat Thread

While I think there's better ways of spending the food money than MREs I thought I'd pass this information along for those interested in doing so. And no the photo is not of the actual MRE.

Small microwave oven . Store electronic backups in it when not making popcorn or heating coffee.

Re: Prepper Boat Thread

Copper will shield electroStatics, a charge. To shield electroMagnetics, a current pulse, you need a ferros cage. The U wave works because the shell is steel. Not great but better than nothing. A steel boat would work better. In truth I'm not very worried about it. If it occurred most anyone you could talk to would also be fried.

I worry more about civil unrest brought in by global financial collapse.
