Science recycles food - after it's digested

Well, this saves on pump out fees AND answers the question of fresh meat in the middle of the Pacific.

Japan scientist synthesizes meat from human feces - Yahoo! News

Video about 1/2 down the article. Wonder if rather than a "Y" valve that now one needs a three way?

I think I'll run away from that one.

Amazing what research $$ is spent on.

Ewwwww....what is the point of eating that?

About as close as I could get to that is drinking water purified from urine on the space shuttle.

Re: Science recycles food - after it's digested

Would you be able to use this in a vegetarian diet? How many times will it need to be recycled before a vegan could eat it? Would there need to be separate poop piles for vegans and meat eaters? How many times can you recycle poop? What if you have a food allergy and someone poops into your pile after eating a food you are allergic to? Is it wrong that I have so many questions running though my mind about this?

Vegan, NO

Re: Science recycles food - after it's digested

Most of the vegans I know don’t eat animal products in protest of the exploitation of animals, if it becomes a human by-product is it no longer an exploitation of animals? So how many times does it have to be recycled to no longer be an exploitation of animals? Just some of the absurd questions going through my head as I explore the ramifications of this ‘food option’, would it be sold as a organic product, labeled as a protein based meat substitute, the questions pile up…
Don't worry this obsession too shall pass, hopefully sooner than later...

How would the FDA label this: May contain human and/or animal by products, nuts and/or corn may be present....

My husband says that nuts would DEFINITELY be present if this were on a supermarket shelf...

I think it is imperative that you get out sailing. I think a good doctor would write you a prescription for it.
