What model is your LG? We can’t find the 16*“ deep model; seems there is a 24“

Re: Washer/Dryer

I have a Baby Nova automatic washer in the lazarette and I have been quite happy with it. Drying on the lifelines. The key point are to use an automatic washing machine (the manual ones are so much hassle that you would be better off with a plunger).

There are other options for drying if you don't want to use the lifelines or the weather is bad. Ideally, you get a dedicated dryer and vent it out, even if the vent is temporary through a hatch. If you don't want to waste the space, you can use one of these portable enclosures below. You can feed it hot air either through the supplied heater or through the diesel air heater if you have one.

The other key consideration with washing clothes on board is you need all the predecessor systems working (watermaker, inverter, generator or diesel air heater for drying). Otherwise you will be disappointed and end up going to shore most of the time.

Re: Washer/Dryer

I’ve got an Indesit washer drier. I am pretty happy with it. It’s very efficient just as a washing machine, but not too terrible as a drier. I usually put it on a short dry cycle and lay the laundry out inside the boat, not outside, to finish off drying overnight. A full dry is too hot for the good of the clothes and uses a lot of energy, so this is the best way to use it I think. In the morning it’s done and not made salty by salt from the lifelines and not soaked from a midnight rain shower.

The Indesit is branded Splendide and converted to 110V in the US at double the price of the Italian made 230V model.
