Your Favorite Recipes aboard?

what do you guys like to cook while aboard? I'm curious what people have as their "specialties" as for me I love doing seared ahi with sesame seeds and wasabi drizzle also really like cooking stir fry aboard, how about the rest of you?

Re: Your Favorite Recipes aboard?

I love using my slow cooker (AKA crock pot) receipts. My favorite is chicken in peaches and a Greek dish called Kleftico which is lamb meet with root vegetables.
The best thing about the slow cooker is that it takes very little energy to run and hence can be run on solar power not costing me any precious propan.

May the good winds always be with you

I do a ton of braising in my dutch oven. One of my favorites is: http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/3...sweet-potatoes

Almost no work and you can get the ingredients almost anywhere.

Re: Your Favorite Recipes aboard?

Someone ought to write all these down for a cook book. There are a bunch from many other threads too. Man, now I am really hungry!

Re: Your Favorite Recipes aboard?

Because of the season I will recommend a very old family recipe you'll want to make again.

Stuffed Pumpkin

Ingredients:
1 small pumpkin
2# ground veal, pork & beef (or venison)
1 chopped onion
4 potatoes (cooked & mashed w/ butter, salt & pepper)
1/4cup dry sherry
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp allspice
dash cinnamon
salt & pepper

Carefully remove top of pumpkin so it can be replaced. Thoroughly clean inside and rub w/ salt & pepper.
Brown meat, onions and spices. Remove excess oil, and add sherry.
Place meat in bottom of pumpkin, and cover w/ potatoes. Replace top of pumpkin, and place pumpkin in baking pan w/ 1/2" water.
Bake @ 350* for approx 75 minutes. Serve contents w/ some of the pumpkin.

Bon appetit!
