Before and After pictures of girls cabins

Our girls weren't thrilled to move onto a boat that wasn't "their's". With less than $120 I did a cabin "makeover" for all of us.

SV Terrapin: The cabins have been redone.

What do you think?

Wow, great to see how you're making it work for the whole family - I wish I was you!

I see a lot of Hawaiian symbols? Are you near Hawaii, or planning to be?

If you come around Oahu, give us a message - we'd love to visit and maybe give you some tips on the sights to see in the area.

Re: Before and After pictures of girls cabins

I love them! I'm thinking of doing something with the pilot berth to make it more suited to my son's personality. Our cabin is still a work in process. Bedding for v-berths is a challenge. Especially huge v-berths that are even too large for modified Cal King bedding and the cost of custom sheets is crazy!

Excellent. Really nice upgrades. I like the aft cabin too. The wood made it look very dark. The new paint is terrific.

Great website.

Re: Before and After pictures of girls cabins

Are those cubby curtains really just curtains or are they attached at the bottom to keep stuff in place?

Re: Before and After pictures of girls cabins

The "curtains" are held by shock cord on the top and bottom. I used hooks on the inside of the cubbies to hold back the shock cord and make it taut.

Beautiful! I also love what you did with the aft cabin. It brightens it up and gives it great contrast. I was never a fan of all dark wood interiors.

Happy sailing

Re: Before and After pictures of girls cabins

Well done indeed.

Our girls (7 & 9) are looking forward to selecting and personalizing their cabins when we finally make it to our boat in Mid September.

Reading this helps us to share ideas with them. Our little one knows already some sort of Hello Kitty theme. The oldest however is still trying to get ideas.

Thank you for sharing,
David

Re: Before and After pictures of girls cabins

I really like the octopus sticker. I have been wanting to do something similar on our saloon table. Do you by any chance remember where you got it?

Wow! That looks amazing. I love the idea with the cubbies. That is a great way to keep things in but still accessible.
