Bring portable air conditioners on board

After equipping my baby boat with portable air conditioning, my wife has become much more comfortable sailing with me...any thoughts guys?

Re: Bring portable air conditioners on board

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Eason.

I did the same, /w the same good result, when docked [live-aboard] over Southern summers.
Had to remove it, for sailing, though.

Re: Bring portable air conditioners on board

Our boat came with a window unit installed in the cockpit window. It really didn't work unless we were at dock, which we rarely are.
When I replaced the windows I kept the portable unit. Now on those rare times we are at dock, I place it against the hatch of the main berth. Cooling just one room works very well!
As long as you have room to store it when out sailing, it's a good option
