I couldn't stand having my life ripped apart by a woman.

I have seen many more truculent women than men.. always complaining, always white-anting the husbands.

I don't know where society has gone but this decade is about man hating.

And as to the advice that appears to me the best: give her the heave go and head to sea by yourself.

The OPs wife has years of lying and deceiving him and people want he should respect her. Crazy.

I've sailed alot by myself and fully enjoyed the freedom of being me. It can be a great way to cruise. Mark your obviously a communicator as I am, its makes it easier because there's never a shortage of company.

A healthy relationship is great when two people have the self esteem to let each live their life, most relationships aren't like that.

I would choose single over most relationships I've come across.

You hear happy wife comments or equivalent regularly, ive seen to many men give up their dreams to fit around the females wants and demands.

Cheers.
True, sometimes it seems men have to cave more than not to ensure they get to keep the boat, cruise etc. That's not fair.

Life/relationships take work and like boats they all have tradeoffs. Finding just right one is key but it will still need constant maintainence and modifying it and the plans for wherever you take it.

Good for you. I did say a lot and not all.

White-anting, I had to look that one up. Great term.

If the wife backed out of such a major event it's over anyway. Move on without her. Stay close with your children.

Dude I got some sad news. If she let you quit your job for this adventure and then spent your money on summer camp then you will be replaced soon. Chance are its already to late but your marriage is falling apart somewhere and dads are easily replaced these days. You will sell the boat and get a new job to pay the child support or go to jail.Your cruising dream is over Sorry to say

Id hate to be you scared of every little thing. I have a house in Florida and been thru many "hurricanes" made much worse by the local news thumping the war cry for the sponsors Home Depot.....get emergency supplies/plywood your windows etc.Believe me in 20 years living in Clearwater area the worst thing I have seen is a lawn chain blowing down the street and the only thing i did to prepare is buy extra beer for hurricane party. You will have many days if not weeks notice,The big bad storms will not sneak up on this womens kids and hurt them. The only damage these storms really do outide of a super storm like Sandy is damage a few beach houses that rich people use a few days a year. The big high rises on the beach never see anything but some flooding on the ground floor and the insurance people get to use the storms to gut the public on premiums. I stopped paying home owners insurance on my florida home many years ago when they raise the premium to 6% of the value of the home or more per year. I already payed for the house cash I am not going to rent it from an insurance company.I live less than a mile from the water and only basic prep is needed for these storms. That women is not scared of hurricanes. She let the husband quit his job.....

Heave go? Always thought it was heave ho. Heave ho sounds better.

Three months in Thailand and the Philippines have not seen even one unhappy single gentleman. The western system has issues.

As all opinions have been expressed for both sides, It perhaps is time to put to bed...
