Honey...?

My better half was somewhat luke warm to sailing on our O'Day 22. Last fall, against her wishes, I bought an O'Day 30, which we sailed 600 miles home. She is loving the boat, sailing, a bit of cruising, and the local sailing club.

Last night she found assorted sailing magazines are available on Kindle, and read them for about an hour.

Out of the blue, she asked, "Honey, can we go to Annapolis?"

This could get expensive.

Go!

The [Annapolis] Boat Show is one of the best in the World. You'll love it!

There are lots of educational sessions you can attend and also, just hanging out with seasoned sailors in general, swapping stories.

Also make list of things you need for the boat and keep it handy. You'll find all sorts of "show special" discounts and deals in general. It will save you a lot.

I got my complete set of foulies [foul weather gear] at the London International Boat Show and saved around $500...

Have fun!

Re: Honey...?

Shopping for stuff smaller that boats....hmmmm....

Chris- Is the rum offer good for 2022? We can't make it this year, but next year should be easy. I'll be mentoring kayak traditional stuff in Lewes, DE & the dates align nicely. (If not, have a rum for me, and another for Sheila!)

Re: Honey...?

I like your wife's new found enthusiasm for sailing, go with it!

The boat show in Annapolis is always a good time, but you don't need to attend to reap the discounted prices from the boat show. Many online stores have sales during the various boat shows (Defender comes to mind) with good discounts on stuff.

In addition, Fawcetts. It's a chandlery in Annapolis that we visited while at the boat show. We mentioned we were stocking up for repairs and upgrades on our new to us boat. They gave us a nice discount and great service too
