Re: Parrots overboard!

I believe that bird was cursing you out as she climbed back in.

Re: Parrots overboard!

I read the headline and was wondering what Jimmy Buffet did now!

Great vids

Re: Parrots overboard!

Tori, I was thinking that netting is going to get kind of nasty hanging down in the water after a short while. I would think a good size piece of polypropylene line, say 5/8 or 3/4", might work just as well. Our birds can climb a rope just fine. Also, there would be no netting to get a foot tangled up in.

I agree the netting does get kinda nasty. Clara can climb a line great but poor little Ducky is missing alot of toes so we used the net because she has slot of difficulty climbing

Wondering how its going with the birds now that you've had them aboard for a while? Everybody happy?

Birds are doing well...Ducky fell overboard once while we were cleaning and Clara evaded the pokey things to get to the dock via a line
All in all everybody is happy!

Re: Parrots overboard!

We taught our cat to get back aboard and I must say, training your birds looked like a piece of cake compared to our Snowshoe Siamese. He knew exactly what we were going to do before we even got started and he didn't want to have ANY part of it.

Re: Parrots Overboard !

Wonderful story about forward thinking that could save the life of a beloved pet. Good for you! One caveat, however. My friends lost a beautiful dog that fell "overboard" while the boat was on the hard. The long fall broke its back. Pets that get used to jumping or falling overboard need special restraint when the boat is not in the water.
