In fact, you should ban him from getting OFF until his chores are completed to your satisfaction!

My Kids have been boating all their lives. 1st Crossing of Cook Strait at 6 weeks, then, from this

Both Kids have 1000's of miles, and, now adults, still say they were the best bits of growing up. Our arguments with teachers etc about taking them out of school for cruising offshore were well worth it!!

Kids are fine. It's adults that worry me.

He was a great dog. When we had to camp in tents on multi day rides he would sleep just out side the tent and would wake us when ever a curious grizz came into camp at night. Had a real bond with that dog.

Maybe but kids grow up to become adults.

What is needed is a lot less children. There is a big population problem in the world in case you haven't heard.

Don't worry , the UN expects pop growth to level off from about 2025.

On a more general point, we all probably have 100s of pictures of kids on boats, what are we doing in this thread , patting ourselves on the back.

Where was there any negativity, posting pics of happy kids on boats , doesn't overlook the fact that there are situations where they shouldn't be.

Me no have kids.

Me remember kids throwing coconuts at SaltyMonkey in the school yard tree and giving SaltyMonkey a pink belly.

Ask Newt. His thread and it was started as a refreshing look at kids on boats, which beckons photos. No back patting going on. Just proud parents I think.

Re: Reasons to ban children from cruising!

I had posted this on my blog and elsewhere on the recent hotly discussed thread and received some verbal abuse for it...
..."Although I have only been out one year, I would estimate 1 out of 20 cruise with children. They are happy, healthy, inquisitive and very respectful. If you were to compare them to land-bound children who are coddled by their parents, taught the right of entitlement and plugged into the television or in front of some mindless, violent video game. You would wonder which children were really being endangered".
Being temporarily on land now I am amazed by the vidiots and texters in Starbuckskis. It seem no one wants to interact with one another. What kind of society are we becoming.
As far as I'm concerned all children between the ages of 11 to 17 should have to spend one semester on a sailing vessel...hopefully a tall ship. The movie "White Squall" portrait the benefits of team work and communication. But that's just me.
