I know that one. A particularly memorable one happened going South down the Gold Coast of Mexico in the middle of the day in the shade of the cruising spinnaker with the Monitor on duty...

Here in Poland we have a region with a lot of navigable lakes. Most of people here start their sailing there. Most of boats are of 20 - 30 ft, so the headroom in forward berths is rather limited...
The lakes are Mazurian Lakes...
The position You described - with use of opened forehatch - we call here "The Mazurian Cuckoo"

Re: Sex Afloat . . . Give it to Me !

if you think a v-birth in a 27'er is bad try getting it on in a 18' Dory Typhoon. It was easy to get girls out to her but they didn't like the small space. Perhaps it was the smell of fishing gear, empty beer cans, and wetsuits. I was 19 with a boat and a bike, a 79' CRX500 I had turned into a cafe' bike. Asking girls if they want to go for a motorcycle ride to my sailboat was like getting a fat kid to eat cake, I think girls like pirates As for the sex, at 19 all sex is good.
I was told by an Old Salt who lived in the marina that I had the dory after a girl had left "Half of why you get a boat it to get women. The other half is to get away from them."

well this has been a good thread in support of the larger boat, interesting that sex isn't normally memtioned among the advantages of getting smaller boat

maybe the smallest boat that meets one needs should be considered more in this light

Never had any problems when I had my Cape Dory Typhoon while going through flight school in Pensacola, Fl....clean her up and look for the more gymnastic type dates! Usually a good bottle of wine and the setting sun helped things along too! The cockpit wasn't too bad either...wonder where cockpit originally got it's name anyhow????

Funny how watching the sun going down makes pants do the same The wine and sunset over the water is perhaps the best tactic EVER.

Hobbie cats could be sweet!!!! Don't see any room on a Lazer or Sunfish, but if I was 16 again I could make it work

I was led to believe that size doesn't matter.

Re: Sex Afloat . . . Give it to Me !

I can attest from a mis-spent youth that boat size may be inversely related to pleasure. A 13ft Boston Whaler offers a remarkable number of options and a most interesting motion when drifting a mile from the nearest shore (necessary for privacy)

Of course in those days the whaler's beautiful varnished mahogany seats with lots of handy cushions added je ne sais quoi

You were mislead.

Which reminds one of the old joke - why are women so poor in maths? Answer: because they've been told all their lives that this [thumb and forefinger held five inches apart] is eight inches.

Sorry, a little vulgar, I guess.

Depends on which side of the "normal" scale one is on.

I don't understand. After a weak of going to windward in a gale, I was really in the mood! She took one look at me, and said: "You don't look too good".

WOMEN! Go figure...
