tavelling with dogs

Does anyone have experience taking dogs out of australia? Does every area have seperate regulations? We also have a bird just to make it a little harder! We want to head towards the med after 2years around australia. Unsure of the route we take,
we have heard of the Pet travel scheme ( PETS) does it help ? what immunisation do they need ?

I was wondering about this as well in a more general sense. How easy is it to take dogs in and out of foreign countries? I would expect it would depend on the country correct?

A good place to start is The global site for cruising sailors — Noonsite

I've been taking our 40lb dog on day sails to see how she likes it. Lack of traction when we heel has her very upset. I've added dri mat squares to the cockpit floor to see how she likes that. She refuses to touch the cabin sole when we heel as she knows how slippery it is for her. I'm going to lay down a rubber yoga mat to fix that. We'll see how she reacts to improved traction. So far I can't see her enjoying life at sea one bit, except when we stop and she can jump in the water! That, she absolutely loves.

Google "Power Paws". Non slip socks for dogs. They are lightweight and breath so no worries about hot feet. (One way dogs cool themselves is through their feet). Our last gal got used to them pretty quick and they really helped her.
