We have been staying at Atlantic Highlands after getting fuel and always saw boats near the USCG. We draft 7 so having another spot would be nice. Also it would save an hour getting around the tip the next morning, thank you.

I line up with their breakwater for their docks or just northwest of it if not staying long. Or if crowded or staying longer southeast of the next dock(Sea Streak ferry dock so you want to give it wide berth) Line up with the second or third house in Fort Hancock row. Usually I try to be at 300 yds off if northern spot and 400 yds off if southern spot. I draw 5 ft and use a 35lb CQR with 100ft of 5/16" BBB and up to 200ft of 5/8" rode. Hope it helps.

    Hi Jersey Joe,

I'm interested in your comment about anchoring near the USCG at Sandy Hook. How tight do you pull in? Do you prefer north or south of the station?
