Hello I will get all info on the one I have and I will do a little homework on it can get back to you. What I was told is that it would be better to have some type of extension from the pulling at the top of the mast to the pole of my self furling because at the top of the mast it sometimes gets hung up on time to time

A jib/genoa for a roller furler also uses a halyard to pull the sail up the length of the roller furler tube/foil. But once the sail is pulled up and tightened it is not used again. With a conventional "hanked on" jib/genoa you have to release the halyard to get the sail down off the forestay so you can store the sail below. With a roller furler the sail remains "up" and instead is simply rolled up around the roller furler tube/foil. You never take the sail down. This makes sailing a lot easier as you do not have to "raise" the jib/genoa. You just unwind it off the roller furler and when finished sailing wind it back up again.

A Profurl Roller reefing system is used on a sailboat to "roll up" your jib or genoa when you are not using the sail. It consists of a aluminum foil(tubing) into which the jib or genoa is threaded/inserted and a drum at the bottom with a long control line wrapped around it. Pulling in on the control line rolls up the jib/genoa around the aluminum tube/foil. Letting out the control line allows the sail to unwind and deploy for use.

Your jib/genoa needs to have a "luff tape" sewn along the leading edge of the sail that is inserted into the groove in the roller furler tube/foil.

Ordinary "hanked on" jib/genoa's have clips or hooks that attach to your forestay. A halyard line is connected to the top of the sail and is used to pull the sail up the forestay so you can use it.
