    I saw you re post re sailing from Galapagos to Tahiti. I ve had to friends , couples do that trip in the last two years and both said the same thing. The winds were quite light , this is normal there, and neither had any storms or wind over 25 knots . They both complained about the length of time the trip took because of that. One decided to use his engine as he thought they were never going to get there. Of all the runs that firsts stretch is the easiest if you re concerned about weather, but its long. If you did that trip you may gain the confidence to go further. The southern trades are the weakest of all the trade winds, its some of the easiest sailing out there as far as long passages go until you get past the cook islands. Good Luck .
