Hi LeeSailor, Mission Accomplished! Was able to save 4 bolts, which were in good shape and replace the washers/nuts. The other 4 had to be cut and pounded through. Real pain! The front nut/bolt was the most worrisome as it loosened up fairly quickly, but was rusted solid together - it was spinning in the shaft. When we got it out it had been malformed like an hour glass. This was probably the root cause of the problem. Go to Dan Pfieffer's P26 page and get the McMaster-Carr replacement nuts/bolts/washers.

Sorry for for the delay. I never think to look at this page. To answer your question, I still have not made the attempt. I've been waiting for a convenient way to get the boat out of the water where I can do the work myself. I think I'll have access this month. We'll see. I'll let you know how it works out. How about you? Have you tried yet? If not, what are your plans?

    Good luck,
    Jim

Hi LeeSailor, I have the same problem you had with keel bolts on a p26. Did you drive them through as the Bill Shaw article described? Any additional info, pics, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you, SilentBid
