    Also, we had a knock-off Kiwi Aries on our old 29' sloop (which we lived on for 15 years, raised a child, and circumnavigated); we put that on after the S/S Navik vane failed on the way to NZ, and it performed perfectly all the way round.
    Most of the boats are more concerned with dinghy stowage/security/convenience than with long distance sailing. If you're a singlehander, get a vane. **** happens to electrics. Gary is thinking of going to San Blas later, he's in Zihuatanejo right now getting a root canal. Cheers,
