I was a newbie myself not long ago.... First you will quickly find out that some people on CF are ******** and you really need to be careful what info you take to heart. There are some great people here too though, just don't be discouraged... Many people contacted me privately to help when I needed it.. I would love to pass that help on to you if you want.

I know the boat you are talking about. I was standing on that boat just 3 weeks ago. I have a few pictures of it. Thats a pretty big thing, as that boat is not super easy to get to. Its in pretty standard shape for a boat in Cuba. No you would not be able to sail it back to Australia without some significant work. Yes its a good deal, but I'm not sure I would consider it if I lived in Australia..

Send me an e-mail if you want more info about it. I will talk a little more candid through e-mail.

Hi travellerw, thanks for the info, yeah it does sound complex. I'm looking at a fountaine pajot 43, the price is enticing as compared to here, for similar year and model it can be up to twice the price, thus my search overseas. Cuba, the states or the pacific seems a more doable voyage for me as yes I'm a newbie.
Thanks again for info and good luck with all.
    Regards Scott
