Picture 21 of 93 from Album Channel Islands
Forney's Cove, west end of Santa Cruz island. Cheoy Lee Luders 30. I would prefer anchoring in closer, especially since I anchor bow/stern, but watch out in here. Closer in to the beach are patches of grass and often lumps of kelp swirl on the sea floor in the shallower water, sure to foul any anchor. If you can watch your anchors hit the sand and set, then they should be fine though. Also, occasional south swell can come in and larger waves will break without notice farther off the beach.
