Thanks for the info. I think those are the batteries we are going to end up with. Bluewater's latest quote is for 4 master volt AGMs that are taller than our existing batteries and have a 400 A-h capacity.

By the way, as a new boat owner I have found it hard to find reliable contractors/yards to work on the boat. Do you have any pointers as to who I should use or avoid?

I am in YVR also and might be able to give you some info as I now use 6v L16 AGM's on my boat. When I was out last, I had a large issue of getting fresh batteries in Chile that would be deep cycle in more than name.
