Looking for my first launch location in the Kemah or Galveston Bay area probably early September. This is the largest sailboat I have owned/sailed at 20'. It's trailered and kept dry - out for weekends.

I've seen the ramps at Nasa and immediately off the Galveston Island causeway ($4 ramp fee but easy incline) on the right side. Also considering 61st street boat ramp.

    Looking for suggestions or recommendations.

Anchor Recommendation! I just purchased (recommended by staff at West Marine) a suitable sized "Fortress" anchor ($140.00) for my 20' wooden sloop - but am afraid of loosing it off Galveston Bay from Ike debris. I like the weight and would prefer keeping it if there's no potential issue - but am considering somethng more "disposable" - just can't see loosing an expensive anchor getting hung up on some rocks/debris. Looking for recommendations - specifically for the Galveston Bay area use.
