How are you liking your Compass 47?

We are looking at a 1990 Compass 47 here in Arizona (Mexico actually .)

We are going to need to need to replace the chainplates (since they are the original ones.) The chainplates on this yacht appear to be bolted to some very large knees that are covered by the beautiful interior woodwork. Have you inspected or replaced your chainplates? I'm interested in knowing what the construction of the knees is.
