Hi Big Moe! Thanks for the extra incentive for a topping lift. We are putting in the topping lift but my husband only wants it for a back up halyard. I am sure he will see the advantage to having it as a topping lift eventually. Now I’m just happy for the compromise.

If your vang fails it could rip your main sail. I had it happen to me years ago. Put the topping lift on. It’s only 1 line
