About the electric scooter.
The price seems excessive. I would shop around. Check out electricbikeblog.com and lunacycle.com as a place to start and get a sense of prices. Not sure either has anything about scooters, but you will understand why I think the price of the scooter you are looking at is excessive. Also, with a scooter vs a bike, consider keeping speed under control and stopping while going down hill.
