We decided NOT to buy a cat because we are afraid they will be too difficult to re-sell. When we eventually settle in Florida, we want a power boat and not a sail boat. We love all boats.

We too checked with seabbatical. The 2 boats they had available for our time frame had NO A/C or generators. We prefer to have some comforts.... The costs were not to bad for long term renting... The boat choice just not great. We are thinking maybe of buying a cruiser (non sailboat) and do the same thing. Take our time. Stay down their from October to May??? We will see how long we can stand it

Curious as to whether you ever found a suitable option? Like you, I am looking for a 3-5 month charter and while I've talked to Seabatticals, I've not yet found a great option. (I'm looking for a mid 40's cat somewhere in Caribbean for late Spring/summer 2017.)
