Well the Canadian Citizenship part is OK now I just need to find someone certified to measure the boat. I always thought I might bring the boat home someday but somehow that seems less and less likely so the taxis not an issue. Did I read a post somewhere that it might be possible to provide this measuring service from overseas?

Only Canadian citizens may register a boat in Canada. There is a one time cost of $250. Smaller vessels (less than 15m) may "self measure" but a vessel your size must be measured by a Government Appointed Tonnage Measurer. No taxes or duties are due on a Canadian Registered Vessel until it hits Canadian waters.

Interested in registering our vessel in Canada. Currently Caymen Isle (british) and the fees are getting ridiculous. Our current registration is 16.95 m which I believe is the stem to stern post measurement. We are a CT56, designed by Perry and built at the Ta Chiao yards in Taiwan. I am concerned about the measurement requirements. I understand you may have helped others in this process and have helped other offshore vessels. Any info you can provide is appreciated.
