Cadence, I like the appearance of the vessel in pics... it looks like a Shrimper from Southern Coast of USA along the gulf. Some of these were built from Cypress. Some were never fished but used as yachts. I had friends that had one and offered it to me but I was not prepared for divorce or to leave the wife a boat widow...
I never was soaked in the honey pot by a Russian or any other foreign national or domestic for that matter. Occasionally offered though.
I am now single but attached to a beautiful Chinese lady who helps in the garden. She gets motion sickness, so may not be my choice for first mate...
I am wanting to do crossings. Solo not required by my vision. Smart and good attitude are essential ingredients. I like steel hulls as well as wood. Uncle B aka Crusty

Why not rewire the whole boat? Well, I used to gut them and put them back from memory, but in the right way. I also did quality control for Taiwan built boats for a while, then moved on to rep Perkins, Yanmar, Ford Lehman, Kohler and others... Now retired from other things I am getting a skiff ready to fish down in Baja in remote areas. My passions are marine ecology, sailing, fishing, and cooking. Santa Monica Bay has inspired me all my life, but global concerns call me back to contribute on that scale. Please tell me more about yourself, Cadence. You know Prudence? Loved the music of the '60's. Just back from my first trip to India and Malaysia, and finding it is better in first class, feet up, sipping a cool glass of champaign, at 39,000 feet! I hire drivers and good cars and travel with local friends. Stay family live in style. Like home everywhere! Love to know you.
