I'm envious, what are you favorite destinations in Alaska? I have heard that the inner passage might be a favorable place to spend the warmer months...

As an update, the boat I am restoring, Cascade 38 is not back in the water with top and bottom sides done - still trying to figure out the easiest way to get a mast up. I am thinking about using swageless splices to get it rigged using only one crane rental. The electrical system continues to be a pain - with 47 years of additions without any removal of old wires and transducers...

    Cheers!

    Hi John,

I saw your picture of 'where a Cascade 36 can take you', taken by a fellow Kiwi'er of sorts... it brought back adventurous memories of my old Cascade 29. I am currently in Southern Oregon (Charleston near Coos Bay) and fixing up a neglected Cascade 36 (1972 - Hull 15). I am thinking of re-rigging her to fix welded mast, using an Islander 42 mast with cutter rigging for some off-shore adventures. Will she take us there too?

Wishing you fair winds and following seas,
    Mark
