Understood. Take a look at the Crewbay web sight. Could give a chance to get some offshore experience with someone else before you commit.

    Thanks Steve,
I would definitely look in Ft. Lauderdale. I used to live in Aventura and have family there.
Long time ago, I co-owned a 26' Intrepid with my brother. We used to run the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale Billfish tournaments 2x a year. Great times!

I don't really know who I would be sailing with yet. It's the one main piece missing from my equation. I have a very active dating life in Los Angeles. Just haven't picked my first mate

Thanks for the advice. Still trying to save my business. But if it sinks, I'd like to buy something unsinkable.. lol.
I'm in the gym/yoga business so it's anyones guess right now. Best, Seth

You are going to get lots of feedback from the forum both positive and negative. Lots of opinions about what is too big and what is too small. Whether a boat is too big depends on what you are doing and what are the conditions. Docking single handed? Need a smaller boat. Doing a passage requiring several nights offshore. Bring some extra crews. If you are island hopping from anchorage to anchorage you can handle most bost by yourself (once you gain a lot of experience). There are websites which will help you find crew along the way to make it more fun and safe.

If you get serious about making the change in lifestyle, I can help. Happy to share some of my experience and give you some advice on ways to get experience before you invest a few hundred thousand on a boat. Meanwhile, Fort Lauderdale is one of the best spots in the world to buy a catamaran. We have a huge market. Hope this helps.

    Steve
