On my circa 50 foot cat I run one engine very regularly. I cruised with 2 motors at circa 8 kts and 6.2-6.5 kts with one motor a similar RPMs. Fuel consumption roughly halved and gave up circa 20-25% of speed. No handling problem except when docking. Two motors very useful when docking in most cases.
