Picture 15 of 20 from Album Bowsprit project
Got to cut the bolts off, totally frozen (flat heads bite!). Hopefully going to get bronze carriage, if not then 316 carriage bolts to replace. See my pretty new teak in the background?
From what I can tell, Cape dory fiberglasses the deck to hull joint in the bow, and used solid glass for the first 2 - 3 feet (past the hawse pipe - cool). There is also a triangular stainless steel plate that fits up into the point of the bow whichs acts as a huge backing plate for the forstay, babystay, and bowsprit (way cool)
