Thanks for the tips and the model number. I'm pretty sure it is the same block, just different cylinder bore from what I can tell. Very good information to know. I just found your long posting on the forum after using K2AS as a search. Sorry to hear you spent so much time on the engine with no success. I went through a similar situation with a 25 year old Evinrude outboard.

    Thanks again.

The 10-Two was built in a Mitsubishi K2AS block. It went out of production in 1987. Not sure if the 12B-Two was the same block or not. Westerbeke will still sell you rebuild parts at an astronomical cost, but I found it was cheaper to just repower with a Kubota.

    Hello,

I saw your post from a while back about trying to get your Westerbeke 10B engine running and trying to find a good cross reference source for parts. I have a Westerbeke 12B-Two engine and I'm in process of getting it running. I believe the 10B and 12B were very similar and possibly from the same block. I was wondering if you had any luck identifying who made the non-marinized parts of your engine. I looked at the Mitsubishi engines currently sold and the L2E doesn't look like it is the same. For reference, my engine is from a boat built in 1981 and it is the original engine.

Thanks for any help or guidance you can provide,

    PJ
