My Princess has a Perkins 4-108. Pulling an engine out of the compartment isn't the biggest problem. Getting it off the boat is the bigger pain. I say this because my main boom comes over the companion way, and can be used as a hoist to pull the engine out of the compartment and hoist over the side.

The previous owner placed a plastic fuel tank under the cockpit. I would rather have the tank lower in the boat. The reason for the question is, the Westerbeke engine has few replacement parts available.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you but I just found this. In answer to your question, No, not yet. When I have to it will be a switch out exchange, rebuilt in -- old out. Not so much complicated as a pain in butt. The in keel fuel tank is the complicated pain in butt replacement problem. Sole out, than cut out watertank which sits on top of fuel tank, than cut out fuel tank and install new. Reinstall all and glass in!

Have you repowered your Princess? If so, was it a complicated installation?
