Sorry Capn Bill I got the post mixed up it was Hopcar that posted the hardstart. You are right about the scroll compressor but my buget confines require a fix to equipment on hand.

Can you reply with the post. I think I was the guy that stated the hard start may not work.

Or better let me know what you are trying to do? The technology, and product features change. What wasn't workable a few years ago may be different now.

I don't use a hard start, I bought a newer scroll type compressor A/C and it solved my problem, (lower starting current).

Morning Capn Bill, I was reading an old post about using a hard start with your 5k ac and a 1k gen. What size hard do you use.
