Yes, our Cat 445 has a bow thruster. While I would not say it is needed it definately has come in handy when either pulling into a tight slip or mooring under difficult conditions. I try not to use it unless necessary but always power and test the bow thruster before approaching a dock or mooring. I look on it as insurance if I screw up. I have the spare 18 gal diesel tank under the galley sole, also have the AC package and diesel generator. I've never used the 18 gal spare tank but I guess if you were going cross-ocean it might come in handy but it does take away some storage space. The A/C (heat and cool) has been useful on some hot/cold nights but it does take away storage space. That one really depends upon your climate, in hotter or cooler climates it is probably needed. I have used it in northeast to extend the sailing season. The Panda 6500 watt generator I think is a must if you are out on a mooring. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,
    Phil

Hello. Am considering a new or used Cat 445. Did you install a bow thruster? If not, have you felt the need for a bow thruster? Any problems with the boat that you'd care to mention? Any suggestions on the factory installed equipment?
